NYT publishes article about Epstein's suicide, denies theory of murder

On the 16th, the New York Times, an American newspaper, published an article based on a vast amount of material that examined how billionaire Epstein, who was charged with sex trafficking of young girls, committed suicide while in custody, rejecting the theory of murder.

The decision was made based on the discovery of multiple notes indicating suicidal intent and testimony from the defendants who were in the same cell at the detention center.

There is a persistent conspiracy theory that Mr. Epstein was murdered because he had contacts with powerful political and business figures and had a "client list" for prostitution of young girls.

The newspaper analyzed a large amount of documents released by the Ministry of Justice and notes that appear to be suicide notes obtained through public disclosure requests.

One note, which appeared to be a suicide note, read, ``It's nice to be able to choose when to say goodbye,'' and another note hinted at suicide, saying, ``Why should the people I love suffer from my problems? It's best for everyone.''

In addition, a former cellmate who was interviewed by the same newspaper said that in addition to being asked how to make a rope by Epstein, he twice witnessed him do things that appeared to be preparations for suicide, such as tying a sheet to a window grate. (joint)
