A fire alarm was reported at the Taitung Zhihang base oil depot! Outsourced worker suffers severe burns and scalds OHCA

An accident was reported at the Zhihang Air Force Base in Taitung City, Taitung County, around 4 p.m. this afternoon. A fire occurred in the oil depot in the base for some reason. After receiving the report, the Taitung Fire Department dispatched multiple ambulances and firefighting vehicles to the scene. However, the base ambulance sent an injured person who had no breathing and heartbeat to the hospital for first aid. The fire was put out by the base itself, but the fire department's fire trucks remained on standby to avoid re-ignition. The military has not yet stated.

At the entrance of the emergency room of Taitung Mackay Hospital, a white military ambulance marked "Air Force Seventh Wing Ambulance" had its rear door open. Several EMTs and medical staff wearing blue vests were quickly pushing out the injured who was lying on a stretcher. The injured person was covered with a golden warm emergency blanket, and medical staff were closely following to assist and respond, preparing to send the injured person to the emergency room for rescue. The atmosphere at the scene was tense.

Preliminary information shows that the fire at the accident scene was extinguished by the base personnel before the fire brigade arrived, and it did not expand further. However, the accident caused severe burns and scalding to a suspected outsourcing factory worker, who lost signs of life on the spot (OHCA).

The injured was then rushed to the emergency room of Taitung Mackay Hospital by a military ambulance of the 7th Air Force Wing for full rescue. Regarding whether the accident involved the high-altitude oil depot project or the specific cause of the fire, it was initially confirmed that it had nothing to do with the fighter plane. The detailed cause and course of the accident still need to be further investigated and clarified by the military and relevant units.
