Fabrizio Piscitelli murder, alleged instigators arrested

The alleged instigators of the murder of the Lazio ultra Fabrizio Piscitelli, known as Diabolik, killed in the Parco degli Acquedotti in Rome on 7 August 2019, have been arrested by the Carabinieri and the police. A precautionary custody order has been issued for 7 people.

Michele Senese, the historic head of the clan of the same name, is suspected as the apex instigator who, according to the investigators, provided the crucial prior consent for the killing of Piscitelli.

The punitive action would have served - according to what emerged from the investigations - to reaffirm the clan's power over one of its affiliates.

Along with Senese, other leading exponents of Roman crime ended up in prison, starting with Leandro Bennato, suspected of being the instigator and organizer and at the top of the criminal group operating throughout the city of Rome. It would have been him who decided to eliminate Piscitelli, considered an inconvenient competitor on the cocaine market, in order to oust him and gain criminal control of the Tuscolana area. Bennato would have planned the logistics on the site, carrying out preliminary inspections and, on the day of the crime, would have provided direct support by escorting the killer Raul Esteban Calderon on board a stolen scooter. The role of hook and send, according to investigations, would have been covered by Alessandro Capriotti. He, a well-known cocaine broker, would have acted in concert, agreeing to the deadly trap. Capriotti would in fact have set up a fictitious appointment with Piscitelli at the park bench in via Lemonia at 7.00 pm on 7 August 2019, knowingly luring him into the range of action of the hitman, already disguised as a runner and lurking in the area.

'Diabolik punished because he became independent in drug trafficking'

Fabrizio Piscitelli was killed because, despite being affiliated to the Senese clan, he had become independent in drug trafficking and refused to pay the due share of the profits of his illicit activities, paying paltry sums (around 2,000-3,000 euros per month for the large quantities of drugs marketed). This is what is stated in the investigating judge's order which sent 7 people to prison, which underlines that the punitive action served to reaffirm the clan's power over one of its affiliates.
