OpenAI previously rolled out ChatGPT for Health to all U.S. consumers last month, reporting that users submit 300 million health-related queries weekly. The company has emphasized that AI is not suitable for diagnosis or treatment despite deep integrations with medical systems.
OpenAI said today that it is integrating ChatGPT Health with Epic’s electronic health record (EHR) system, which holds data for over 325 million patients, to let clinicians import patient data and use AI to ask questions. The company said that in certain systems, it will also integrate ChatGPT directly within EHR workflows.
With ChatGPT, clinicians can now access information like appointment notes, laboratory results, medications, and specialist documentation and summarize them easily. They can also look at patient history, identify changes, and prepare for future appointments. OpenAI said that in some deployments, clinicians can directly access ChatGPT for getting pre-visit review and building clinical timelines without leaving a patient chart. The company specified that the integration allows only read-only access to health records, and AI doesn’t write anything back.
OpenAI is also adding a new Healthcare Public Data plug-in, which can fetch information from sources including ClinicalTrials.gov, CMS Coverage, RxNorm, DailyMed, and PubMed. The company said that the new plug-in can help healthcare workers synthesize data for trial eligibility criteria, medication identifiers, coverage policy versions, and provider records.
The company said that apart from enabling these new features, it is allowing organizations with a Business Associate Agreement to use ChatGPT Work, Codex, apps, and connectors in their workspace for compliant workflows.
Last month, OpenAI rolled out ChatGPT for health to all U.S. consumers. The company said at that time that people are asking 300 million health-related queries to ChatGPT every week. Despite many deep integrations with medical systems, the company has maintained that AI is not suitable for diagnosis or treatment.
OpenAI said that it collected over 4,300 responses from physicians across 27 clinical use cases, including pre-visit review, clinical timelines, medication review, and handoff summaries, and found that 99.1% of responses were safe. However, even a few unsafe answers can lead to harmful results for humans.

Microsoft's multi-day Outlook and Microsoft 365 service outage entered its second day on Tuesday, with the company reporting ongoing mitigation efforts after a core authentication configuration issue caused email delays, authentication failures, and degraded functionality across Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Copilot, Purview, Defender XDR, Admin Center, and Universal Print services. While mail flow and search functionality showed gradual improvement, Microsoft had not declared full service restoration.

Google is introducing Google Pics, an AI-driven image creation and editing tool powered by its Nano Banana model, to Google Workspace and Google AI Pro/Ultra subscribers. The tool, designed for everyday design tasks like posters and social media visuals, will roll out over the coming weeks, starting with Docs and Slides before expanding to Drive. Unlike Canva or Adobe Express, Google Pics focuses on AI-generated content from prompts rather than template marketplaces or manual design from scratch.

Anthropic released Fable and Mythos 5.1, twin versions of its most advanced AI model, featuring performance improvements, reduced token costs, and relaxed safeguards. Mythos 5.1 remains restricted to registered partners in cybersecurity and life sciences, while Fable 5.1 is publicly available via cloud platforms and API. The release includes a new high-privacy service, Enterprise Frontier Safeguards, launching in June, allowing clients to run models on their own infrastructure with controlled monitoring. Anthropic confirmed no unauthorized access to enterprise data and highlighted benchmark records in Terminal-Bench 4.0 and Humanity’s Last Exam, along with three novel scientific findings generated by the models. The system card rates Mythos as 'low-risk' for automated AI development but notes a slight regression in misaligned behavior compared to Opus 5, while improving over prior Mythos and Claude Sonnet versions.

Florida and Texas are ending their use of Flock's license plate reader technology due to privacy concerns, misuse reports, and civil liberties issues, following similar actions by local communities and amid allegations of police abuse and wrongful arrests.

Waymo argued that fully autonomous vehicles require multiple sensor types and criticized pure end-to-end AI systems as unsafe, targeting Tesla's approach ahead of Tesla's September 3 Cybercab unveiling. The debate highlights competing technological strategies in the robotaxi market, with Waymo emphasizing its real-world experience from over 200 million miles and a fleet of 4,000 vehicles across 14 U.S. cities, while Tesla pursues a camera-only approach with its purpose-built Cybercab.

Nvidia is relaunching DLSS 5 after criticism of its AI-generated visuals in games like Resident Evil Requiem, emphasizing developer control over neural rendering to preserve artistic intent, with granular sliders for tone and structure, three AI models, and selective application to game elements like faces or foliage, while acknowledging performance costs and ongoing questions about adoption.
