22-year-old worker died in work accident at the Colosseum

A 22-year-old worker, Andrea Moretti, died during the night due to an accident at work inside the Colosseum. The young technician, 22 years old, was busy creating the new lighting of the Flavian Amphitheatre. According to an initial reconstruction, he fell about ten meters from a scaffolding. The 118 workers immediately rushed to the scene, but despite attempts to resuscitate him, the young man died.

The investigations

After the accident - which the Carabinieri and the judiciary are investigating - Minister Giuli immediately went to the scene. As a sign of mourning, the PArCo has decided to close to the public today the sector of the second level where the accident occurred, an area however not subject to seizure by the judiciary, which is currently busy determining the dynamics of the incident.
