In response to Li Yajing and other members' questions about emerging drugs, especially the management of drugs, the Kaohsiung Police Department stated that "Tiletamine" is a dissociative anesthetic with a similar structure to ketamine and is mainly used for veterinary anesthesia. After inhalation, it will cause hallucinations and twitching of limbs. Excessive use will cause irreversible damage to the central nervous system and the brain. The Criminal Department said that there have been no cases of similar drugs and drug abuse in Kaohsiung.

The police pointed out that at present, front-line police officers can use reagents to conduct preliminary screening of common drugs for suspicious powders or drug coffee bags. For Tiletamine, they will coordinate with the planning of the Police Department and actively strive to purchase and distribute special rapid detection reagents to improve the performance of real-time identification on the front line.

In terms of precise laboratory testing, the Criminal Police Department and domestic authoritative testing agencies now have the technology to accurately detect the ingredients of Tiletamine using high-end precision instruments (such as liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometer LC-MS/MS), which can be used as a substantive basis for judicial convictions.

The police stated that the most important thing is the legal basis, and will actively recommend the listing and coordination with the Ministry of Justice. Because its pharmacological mechanism is similar to that of ketamine, the Gao City Police Department will actively recommend to the "Drug Review Committee" of the Ministry of Justice through the Police Department to submit a legal report to add it to the first level drug compared with etomidate (or increase the listing depending on the social harm assessment), to prevent the animal anesthetic "tiletamine" from becoming the next etomidate.
