The incident took place around 17:00 on September 5 in Nurtepe District. According to the information obtained, his girlfriend Özlem Esmergül, who could not hear from actor Serhat Kılıç, came to the house where Kılıç lived. Özlem Esmergül, who entered with her spare key, found Kılıç motionless on the sofa in the living room. Upon notice, Kağıthane Public Order Bureau teams and medical teams were dispatched to the address. Upon check-up by medical teams, it was determined that Kılıç had died. Kılıç's body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after examination.
THE STATEMENT GIVEN TO THE PROSECUTOR WAS REVEALED
While the investigation into Kılıç's death was ongoing, the statement his girlfriend Özlem Esmergül gave to the prosecutor at the scene was revealed. Özlem Esmergül said the following in her statement:
"Serhat Mustafa Kılıç is my friend. I have known him for 8 years. He is a TV series actor. We last talked to him on Thursday, 2 days ago, via his mobile phone. There was a situation about him being kicked out of the TV series because he could not go to the set of the TV series in which he was an actor due to health reasons. We talked about this issue on the phone. He also told me that his health was very bad. Finally, he argued with me and his friends on the TV set because he could not attend the sets due to health reasons, and then I learned that he did not answer the calls. However, he did not answer the calls. It was learned that he said, "As a matter of habit, there would be times when he would not communicate with the people he was angry with for 5-6 days. Therefore, after I could not reach him on Thursday, I did not suspect this situation."
“I KNOW THAT HE USE DRUGS AND ALCOHOL”
Özlem Esmergül continued her statement: "Normally, I would go to him on Monday and check if he needed anything. But today, I suddenly felt like going to him. I entered the house with the spare key I had on me. There were broken plates on the floor. It was quite cold inside and the air conditioner was on. When I touched him, I realized that his body was hard and after concluding that he was dead, I informed the police teams. I know that he was recently treated in a private hospital in Şişli for a cervical disc herniation. Because of this illness, "He couldn't go to work and walked around wearing a neck brace," he said.
At the police station, Özlem Esmergül said that Kılıç was not addicted to drugs or alcohol, and in her statement to the prosecutor, it was learned that she said, "I have known that he has been using drugs and alcohol for as long as I have known him. As far as I know, he has also been using cocaine for the last 6 months. He does not have anyone with whom he is hostile."
CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION REPORT EMERGED
The crime scene investigation report prepared by the Istanbul Police Department Crime Scene Investigation Branch Directorate teams has been revealed. In the report, it was stated that there were security guards and security cameras at the entrance of the site where Kılıç's apartment was located, and that entrances and exits were controlled. It was noted that there was a security camera at the entrance of the building overlooking the corridor. According to the report, there were no signs of force on the steel entrance door of the flat. While it was seen that the key was not inserted in the door, broken pieces of a plate of the same color and pattern were detected in the corridor of the house and at the entrance of the living room.
SUSPICIOUS SUBSTANCES IN METAL BOX AND SUITCASE
The report stated that a green herbaceous plant, considered to be a drug, was found in a metal box on the wooden coffee table in the living room. It was also noted that there was cigarette rolling paper in the bag. It was stated that in the fabric suitcase in front of the library, there was a green herbaceous plant, which is considered to be a drug, in a black clip-on bag, and 3 rolled 200 lira banknotes, which are considered to be used for drug use.
