Criminal complaint and compensation lawsuit from Özel to Emir Sarıgül

NEW Party Chairman Özgür Özel is initiating a legal process regarding Emir Sarıgül's allegations against him. In this context, a criminal complaint will be filed against Emir Sarıgül to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office within the scope of the crime of "slander". Özel's lawyers will also file a lawsuit demanding 1 million TL for non-pecuniary damages due to attacks on his personal rights.

'THE CLAIMS ARE UNFUNDAMENTAL'

NEW Party sources stated that the allegations are completely unfounded and said, "The fact that the two statements given by the person in question in a completely different investigation were unrelatedly directed at our Chairman and that they were published in the ruling media shows that there is a clear fiction here. Those who made this slander, those who had it slandered and those who published it are part of a reputation assassination. We will take all necessary steps to hold accountable whoever is behind the dirty organization in which such slanders are made about the leader of the main opposition party."

Party sources also stated that the compensation income from the case will be donated to organizations working for the public good.
