Pedro Sampaio anticipates news for his debut on the Rock in Rio World Stage

Pedro Sampaio will use his debut on the Rock in Rio World Stage to present news to fans.

In an interview with g1, the DJ and singer previewed details of the new phase of his career and revealed what the public can expect from the show.

“Lots of new repertoire, choreography and also launches in the middle of the show", said Pedro.

The presentation will mark a turning point in the artist's career, as he leaves aside the "Caos" era and now focuses on a show concept he calls "Abraça o Amigo e Pula".

g1 followed the singer's rehearsal this Thursday (11), in Barra da Tijuca, Rio, and provides details of the structure prepared for the festival.

The main novelty is on the stage itself: Pedro will perform in a structure made up of sofas arranged at different levels, like steps.

The element will be explored by the artist over the next year and will be used as the symbol of this new phase.

Among the furniture used in the scene, one refers to the sofa in the house where Pedro lived; another is inspired by the series "The Simpsons".

"I understood that the sofa is a way for you to feel hugged. In other words, the sofa hugs everyone who sits on it. And you can also jump on the sofa", he explains.

In addition to the scenographic structure, the show will feature projections on the screen that will present the visual identity of the artist's new era.

Pedro Sampaio also spoke about a possible performance with J Balvin at Rock in Rio.

To g1, the DJ did not want to say who will participate in whose show, but assured that the joint performance will take place during the festival.

J. Balvin performs on Palco Mundo right after the Brazilian. The two have already worked together on “Perversa”, a partnership launched by Pedro in 2024.

Pedro Sampaio's debut on Palco Mundo comes after an edition that had Calvin Harris as headliner on the main stage: something unprecedented for a DJ at the highest position in the program.

The choice of the Scot raised questions about whether a DJ would be able to sustain the role of main attraction on a festival night.

Pedro, who is now debuting on the same stage, evaluated the presentation and explained to g1 what, in his view, a DJ needs to deliver to occupy this space.

“I think it's incredible that Rock in Rio has a DJ as the headliner because it makes us hope that one day we'll get there," he said.

I think a DJ needs to deliver technology and dynamics in the repertoire. I think the difference between a DJ and a singer, perhaps, is this. That we can put another dynamic into the show. I'm lucky to be both, right?"

Pedro Sampaio's performance at Rock in Rio will take place next Saturday (12) on Palco Mundo, with live broadcast.
