Pedro Sánchez promises a royal decree on housing after protests in Madrid

Sánchez launched the commitment expressly referring to Maricarmen, the 87-year-old woman who was evicted last Wednesday and whose case has ignited street protests. "I ask the parliamentary groups to make one last effort to have it validated in Parliament," the president launched from Getafe, thus putting the ball in the court of his partners in Congress. He has placed the responsibility on them for the text to go ahead - while negotiations with Sumar and Junts are underway - and he has looked to the right to find blame for the Maricarmen case and the housing crisis that today, he said, "millions of Spaniards suffer."
