The head of the Council of Fashion Designers of America attacked a PETA activist at a show in New York.

The head of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Stephen Kolb, attacked an animal activist from the organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) during the show of the autumn collection of the Cos brand, which took place as part of Fashion Week in New York. This was reported by Fashionista.

Five activists took to the podium along with fashion models, holding placards. Slogans were written on them about cruelty to sheep, whose wool the brand supposedly uses to sew its products.

Security officers escorted the protesters out of the hall, but some of them returned. Kolb could not ignore what was happening and forcibly took away the activists’ posters. At the same time, he covered the mouth of one animal rights activist with his hands, and threw his partner to the floor and wrapped his legs around her.

PETA representatives later provided reporters with a press release in which they stated that they were going to sue Kolb. "Today's incident shows how powerful people in the fashion world use violence to silence those who expose the beating and cruelty of sheep for scarves and sweaters," said PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk.

In turn, Kolb published a story on Instagram (owned by Meta, a company recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation), in which he called his behavior inappropriate. At the same time, the platform flagged his post as content generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
