Peter Thiel invests $76 million in Vista Energy

The US techno-tycoon, Peter Thiel, has invested approximately 76 million dollars for the acquisition of 1% of the shares of the Argentine oil company Vista Energy, one of the main operators in the unconventional Vaca Muerta field, in Patagonia.

This is what emerged from the documents delivered on Friday to the Security and Exchange Commission of the United States by the Thiel Macro Llc fund, which specify that the investment allowed Thiel to acquire 1.2 million Vista shares.

The founder of Palantir has been interested in Argentina for some time and had settled with his family in Buenos Aires for a few months in April, holding meetings with the president Javier Milei himself, with government authorities and representatives of the business world.

Before his arrival in Argentina Thiel had also acquired an important mansion in the Palermo Chico neighborhood, one of the most elegant in the capital.
