PF arrests suspect of being part of a document forgery scheme in Tabatinga, Amazonas

According to the PF, among the practices investigated is the production of birth certificates with false information, which were delivered to order. The documents would later be used to obtain Brazilian civil registrations irregularly.

According to the PF, the suspect arrested preventively was involved in contacting interested parties, obtaining, withdrawing and delivering false documents, in addition to negotiating values. He would also participate in measures to hide documents and eliminate records related to the criminal group.

The investigation shows that the criminal organization communicated using coded language to make it difficult to identify those involved and monitor procedures.

The new phase of the operation was carried out after analyzing materials seized in previous investigations. According to the PF, the data recovered from electronic devices and documents made it possible to identify new elements about the structure and division of tasks within the criminal group.

The first phase of Operation Ghost Paper was launched in October 2026 and resulted in the execution of arrest and search and seizure warrants.

Those investigated may be held liable for the crimes of forgery of public documents, ideological falsification, use of false documents and criminal organization, depending on their level of involvement.
