This was declared in a note by the deputy group leader of Avs in the Chamber, Marco Grimaldi.

Emanuele Filiberto: "No honors are sold"
"No honor is sold. No titles are awarded. Confusing membership fees, contributions for the organization of activities and participation in events with the purchase of an honorary distinction means representing a reality that does not exist". This was stated in a note by Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy in relation to the declarations released today by Avs, following an article published in Il Fatto Quotidiano relating to the honors of the dynastic Orders which would be the subject of purchase and sale.
The Royal House also specifies that at the Lingotto in Turin "no 'sale' nor a public ceremony for the awarding of honors took place. The program included the presentation of the new members and those promoted to the Prince Grand Master, president of Aicods, the Swiss association which brings together the ladies and knights of the dynastic Orders". As for the legislation referred to, the Italian regulation relating to the authorization to publicly display certain insignia constitutes a topic distinct from the historical and dynastic nature of the Orders and "cannot be transformed, through a simplification, into the statement that these are 'sold' or non-existent titles".
"It surprises me - comments Prince Emanuele Filiberto - that an activity that for years has brought together thousands of people and concretely supports beneficial projects is described through offensive expressions rather than facts.

Bruno Vespa: "Never paid to acquire Royal House titles"
