Officer in Charge of the Public Protection Branch, Detective Superintendent Damien Epps said the "production, possession and distribution of AI-generated child abuse material is a heinous offence".
"Our specialist Detectives, with the assistance of SAPOL's Digital Evidence Section, have the tools and expertise to peruse, investigate and prosecute anyone attempting to produce AI Generated child exploitation material within South Australia," he said.
The man was granted bail and to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
