The Civil Police opened an investigation to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of self-employed Marcus Vinicius Gonçalves da Silva, aged 32, stabbed inside the apartment where he lived in the North Zone of Ribeirão Preto (SP).
The suspect is Amanda Carla da Silva, 22, who went live on social media showing the crime scene. Arrested in the act for murder, she underwent a custody hearing and was ordered into preventive detention.
The investigated woman claimed, in her statement, that she acted in self-defense after a knife attack by Marcus Vinicius. She also said that she only shared the apartment to cover expenses and that she did not have a relationship with him.
Marcus Vinicius' family, on the other hand, disputes this version and claims that the victim was not an aggressive person and was in a relationship with Amanda.

How was the crime?
The crime took place in the early hours of Monday (7) in an apartment in Reserva Macaúba, in Ribeirão Preto (SP).
At the scene, military police officers found Marcus Vinicius Gonçalves da Silva dead and with a large amount of blood, presenting an injury to the neck region. They also found two knives with traces of blood near the victim's body.
The person under investigation, Amanda Carla da Silva, 22 years old, was in the hallway of the building when the police arrived.
How was the live broadcast after the crime?
After the murder, Marcus Vinicius' family reported having received images of a live broadcast made on social media from the suspect's own profile.
According to family members, the recording showed the victim's body lying on the floor of the apartment shortly after the attack.
The victim's sister, Ketlin Beatriz Silva de Jesus, explained that the relatives did not follow the broadcast in real time, but had access to screenshots.
"She did it through her profile. We didn't have access to the live itself, we had access to screenshots where the person printed that she was doing the live from her profile", said Ketlin.
The victim's sister lamented the circulation of the images on the internet during the police investigation. “She is exposing our pain by exposing a fact that is all confidential,” Ketlin said.
What happened to the suspect?
Amanda was arrested red-handed by the Military Police at the scene of the crime. She was taken to the Judiciary Police Center (CPJ) of Ribeirão Preto, where she was charged.
During the custody hearing, the arrest in the act was converted into preventive detention. The judicial authority did not grant bail due to the maximum penalty and evidence of authorship. Amanda was indicted and is charged with the crime of murder.
What did the investigated person claim?
In a statement to the Civil Police, Amanda denied that she had a romantic relationship with Marcus Vinicius and that the two had only shared the property for two months to share expenses.
The suspect stated that she had left the apartment to meet a friend and claimed that, upon returning, she found Marcus sitting on her bed holding a knife.
According to Amanda's version, the resident had advanced towards her, which led her to take out another knife that she kept under her pillow to stab him.
Amanda claimed to have acted in self-defense before the victim ran towards the room and fell.
What does the victim's family say?
Marcus Vinicius' family contested Amanda's version and stated that the two maintained a stable romantic relationship and lived as a couple.
"Yes, they did have a relationship. He confirms to me through messages that he bought a ring, that he was living with her, that he was very happy," said Ketlin.
The sister denied the thesis that Marcus was an aggressive or violent person at home. "He's always very romantic, very affectionate. And I totally disagree with the hypothesis of him being aggressive."
The lawyer representing the victim's family, José Giannasi Júnior, stated that the evidence collected at the scene nullifies the possibility of a defense on the part of the person being investigated.
"The factual scenario already gathered there already completely rules out the accused's, Amanda's, thesis of self-defense", said Giannasi Júnior.
What are the next steps in the investigation?
The Civil Police seized the cell phones of Amanda Carla da Silva and Marcus Vinicius for forensic examination.
Investigators analyze the content of the messages exchanged by the couple and records of transmissions on social networks.
In addition to the phones, the two knives collected in the apartment were subjected to analysis by the Scientific Police. The police also analyze the images from the condominium's internal security circuit, which recorded the suspect's movement in the building's corridor.
Police authorities are awaiting the conclusion of expert reports and necroscopic examinations from the Legal Medical Institute.
