Police made trial purchases at Thai massage parlors - now the owners are being sentenced

The 60-year-old man, who is from Motala, was arrested last fall and has been in custody since then. The woman was arrested in April. Among other things, she has been involved in bookings, and received orders for "body to body massage" and sent pictures of masseuses to customers.

According to the prosecutor, the women who worked at the salons received a small compensation for sexual services and lived under slave-like conditions in the salons. Some of the women knew neither Swedish nor English and were completely in the hands of the man who owned the salons.

Worked 93 days straight

Among other things, they have been tricked into thinking that they themselves would pay for civil registration, tax and employer contributions with money already paid out. In addition, they have worked for very long periods without having time off. One woman stated that she worked 93 days straight with one day off, then worked another 84 days straight.

During 2025, police officers made seven "trial purchases" at the various salons, where in five cases they were offered sexual services. In one of the cases that did not offer sexual services, the policeman felt that the massage was concentrated in the area of ​​his sex.

The other salons were in Örebro, Farsta, Eskilstuna and Upplands Väsby.
