Irregular electoral propaganda leads complaints in Sorocaba (SP)

The position of federal deputy leads the complaints of irregular electoral propaganda in Sorocaba (SP), according to data from the Pardal application, from the Regional Electoral Court of São Paulo (TRE-SP).

Pardal is the Electoral Justice tool that allows people to report irregularities related to electoral propaganda identified during campaigns. The app is available free of charge for mobile devices, in the App Store and Google Play stores.

As of Friday afternoon (2), the application had received 253 reports. The position of federal deputy is the most cited, with 153 records (60.5%) and 71 for state deputy (28.1). The other records are divided between parties, coalitions and federations (17), president (6), senator (4) and governor (2).

Considering all positions, public roads lead the ranking of irregularities, with 102 complaints. Next come private goods, with 57 (22.5%), and internet advertising, with 21 (8.3%). Together, public roads and private property account for 159 records, or 62.8% of the total.

In the case of the position of federal deputy, the difference between the first two places is small: there were 55 complaints on public roads (35.9%) and 52 on private property (34.0%), a difference of three records. The two total 107 complaints, or 69.9% of the 153 records.

Public goods (10), billboards and electronic billboards (9), internet advertising (7) and distribution of graphic material (7) appear next. Of the 10 billboard records, 9 refer to federal deputies.

For the position of state deputy, complaints related to public roads also lead, with 34 of the 71 records (47.9%), followed by internet advertising, with 9. Public goods (6) and distribution of graphic material (5) come next.

The only record of speakers and sound amplifiers in the entire survey is from this position.

In total, Sorocaba has 529,973 voters eligible to vote. This year, the elections define the positions of president of the Republic, governor, senator - two vacancies -, federal deputy and state deputy.

The first round is scheduled for October 4th. Where there is a need for a second round for majority positions, voting will be held on October 25th.

This Saturday (3), the day before the election, campaigning can only be carried out until 10pm. On Sunday (4), voting day, it will not be allowed to ask for a vote, call the polls or distribute campaign material.
