Gang arrested after series of robberies on rural properties in the interior of São Paulo

According to the corporation, the robberies took place between March and May this year. During the operation, 11 search and seizure warrants were also executed.

The first case occurred in Avaré, on March 30, when three hooded men captured and locked a worker in a room, while other members of the group stole agricultural pesticides, eight cell phones and three vehicles. Some of the assets were recovered by the police.

On April 15, eight men invaded a rural property in Arandu (SP). Two people were threatened with death and, during the robbery, a weapon belonging to the Military Police was taken.

The third robbery took place on April 29, also at a property in Avaré. On that occasion, four men captured the workers at the site and took around R$255,000 worth of agricultural pesticides, in addition to two rifles valued at R$44,000.

According to the police, two farms in Dois Córregos (SP) had 21 tons of coffee stolen over a period of ten days, causing millions in losses. In Itaju (SP), the criminals took a tractor, a car and machinery valued at R$150,000.

Investigations showed that the crimes were committed by the same gang due to the similarity in the way they acted. Authorities identified the suspects after identifying movements between Andradas and the affected cities through cell phone connections.

During the operation, agricultural pesticides, vehicles, a revolver, drugs and other objects of possible illegal origin were seized. The materials will undergo forensic examination, which will verify the origin and possible relationship between the crimes committed in the interior of São Paulo.

The four members were arrested and taken to the Andradas police station, along with the seized material. Investigations are ongoing by the Civil Police.
