Quedlinburg Stiftsberg can be completely visited again after renovation

After extensive renovation, visitors can visit the entire Quedlinburg Stiftsberg again starting this weekend. The newly designed castle museum opens on Saturday with a big festival, as the city of Quedlinburg announced.

Parts of the furnishings were reconstructed: Baroque ornate mirrors, candlesticks and fabrics woven based on historical models are intended to give an impression of how precious the rooms once were. Now a joint tour of the castle museum, the collegiate church of St. Servatii and the cathedral treasury is possible for the first time, it was said.

Since 2018, according to the State Chancellery, a total of around 51.5 million euros have been invested from various sources in the renovation and redesign of the Stiftsberg, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The funds came from the federal government, the state, the EU, the Harz district and the German Foundation for Monument Protection.
