Stimulant spray attacks at a Berlin school and youth hostel

An unknown perpetrator sprayed irritant spray into a tenth grade class in Berlin-Pankow during class. Thirteen students and the teacher at the high school suffered irritation to their eyes and respiratory tract as well as headaches on Thursday afternoon, the police said.

According to the witnesses' statements, a person opened the classroom door, sprayed the irritant substance into the room and fled. The teacher later found an animal repellent spray in the stairwell, it was said. According to information, rescue workers treated eight students and five students as well as the teacher on site. A police youth commissioner is investigating suspicions of grievous bodily harm.

Just on Wednesday evening there was a gas attack on a group of students from Münster in North Rhine-Westphalia in a youth hostel in Berlin-Mitte. A group of young people banged loudly on several room doors on several floors. According to the police, one of the unknown suspects then sprayed irritant gas over a large area in the direction of the young people. 31 students were injured and two were taken to hospital for outpatient treatment.
