Renan Santos (Mission) proposes expanding infrastructure and legal security for agribusiness in a campaign in Ribeirão Preto

Candidate for the Presidency of the Republic Renan Santos (Mission) stated this Thursday (24), during a campaign schedule in Ribeirão Preto (SP), that he intends to expand investments in infrastructure and promote measures to provide, according to him, more legal security to rural producers.

Among the proposals cited by the candidate are the construction of railways and roads and the expansion of energy supply, with the implementation of new hydroelectric plants. He also defended better conditions for the construction of silos and storage structures.

Renan met with supporters on Avenida Nove de Julho. Ribeirão Preto was the candidate's last stop in a series of campaign commitments in the interior of São Paulo this Thursday. Before, he passed through Piracicaba (SP) and São Carlos (SP).

When talking about agribusiness, Renan assessed that the infrastructure available in the country is insufficient to meet the needs of the sector and cited the areas of energy and transport as priorities.

"Investment in infrastructure. The infrastructure is precarious. Investment in infrastructure for both energy and railways, roads and roads."

In the candidate's assessment, agribusiness already has financing mechanisms, but still faces difficulties related to logistics infrastructure to improve production flow. He mentioned the need to expand storage structures, such as silos, close to producing areas.

Energy and new hydroelectric plants

The candidate defended the construction of new hydroelectric plants with large reservoirs. According to him, the measure would allow expanding energy generation for agribusiness activities, especially those that depend on irrigation systems.

Renan stated that he considers the cost of energy to be one of the problems faced by producers and said that he intends to increase generation capacity in the country.

"A large part of Brazilian agriculture depends on energy, especially for irrigation. Energy in Brazil is increasingly expensive and tends to become more expensive. We need new hydroelectric plants made with large reserves."

Legal security

Another point defended by Renan was what he called greater “legal security” for rural producers. According to him, this involves ensuring the maintenance of land ownership and reducing obstacles to the implementation of infrastructure works.

"He needs now, and it is a request from the entire agricultural sector, including here, legal security. Legal security to maintain ownership of his own lands, create infrastructure around them, silos, storage, railway and highway."

Renan also criticized the role of non-governmental organizations in processes involving infrastructure works. According to the candidate, there are cases in which the interference of these entities causes projects to be stopped.

The candidate remains in the region this Friday (25), when he has a morning schedule in Franca (SP).
