Rennes: a minor sentenced to 9 years in prison for rape at knifepoint and handgun

A 15-year-old minor was sentenced Wednesday to 9 years in prison for two rapes at gunpoint and a sexual assault that occurred in the street in Rennes between June and September 2025, Rennes public prosecutor Frédéric Teillet told Le Figaro. The accused was tried by the juvenile court ruling on criminal matters.

The accused was only 14 years old at the time of the acts with which he is accused and for which the courts found him guilty. On June 21, 2025, the teenager meets a 15-year-old girl during the music festival. Around one o'clock in the morning, he followed her and forced her to perform oral sex in a park at knifepoint. Two months later, on August 25, the suspect slapped a 24-year-old young woman on the buttocks, in the street, before fleeing.

The teenager did the act again on September 13, 2025. Around one o'clock in the morning, he followed a 24-year-old young woman who was leaving the metro before forcing him to have sex at gunpoint. He even returns to the scene of the crime a few minutes after the incident to extort the sum of 10 euros. Several category C weapons belonging to him, including a handgun and a rifle with their ammunition, were seized during his arrest on September 18, 2025.

The highly publicized rape of September 13, 2025 led the victim of the events in June to report to the police. “The accused only recognized the facts of September 2025, for which his DNA was found at the crime scene as well as the facts of possession of a weapon,” specifies Frédéric Teillet to Le Figaro.
