271,193 Mexicans repatriated since 2025 through the México Abraza te program

From 2025 to date, 271,193 nationals from the United States have been repatriated to Mexico, to whom support and services have been provided as part of the México Abraza program, reported the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, and the commissioner of the National Migration Institute (INM), Sergio Salomón Céspedes.

In a morning conference at the National Palace, the head of the Ministry of the Interior (SG), explained that in the indicated period more than 1.5 million actions have been carried out, among them, the delivery of 453 thousand food rations, 200 thousand transfers to communities of origin, the distribution of 180 thousand Paisano cards for an amount of two thousand pesos, as well as 138 thousand 669 Unique Population Registration Codes and birth certificates, in addition to legal, psychological, health and anti-violence care for 22,828 women, among other tasks.

Céspedes indicated that upon arrival in the country they are treated with dignity and are provided with food, a medical check-up is done, they are given access to a telephone call and are interviewed, in order to be granted their Repatriation Letter, with which they can receive the benefits of the México Abraza te program.

Regarding foreigners sent to Mexico, he added that so far during Donald Trump's current term, we have received an average of 19,000 foreigners, and this week alone 216 migrants from other nations have arrived.

Regarding repatriated Mexicans, it was reported that 171,508 have entered by land, at points concentrated in the border states of Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila and Tamaulipas.

Another 99,685 nationals have returned by air, mainly to the airports of Tapachula, Villahermosa, Tulum, Mérida, Morelia, Huatulco, Campeche, San Luis Potosí, and the Felipe Ángeles International Airport.

The INM commissioner indicated that 95 percent of the repatriates are from Chiapas, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Veracruz, Oaxaca, Michoacán, Puebla and the state of Mexico.

Meanwhile, the head of the SG highlighted that a year and a half after the creation of the National Repatriation Strategy México Abraza te, in which 34 federal agencies and 14 state governments participate, care, accommodation and transportation with their families to their places of origin have been guaranteed, as well as access to health, education, employment relationships and financial inclusion programs and actions.

He added that to date they have carried out, among other actions, 79,700 medical and psychological consultations, in addition to enrolling 98,600 repatriated Mexicans and their legal beneficiaries in the Mexican Social Security Institute.

Regarding the care of migrants who transit through the country, Céspedes indicated that "there is no action that has to do with a prison issue. There is freedom," and added that now they can only stay in the rooms for a maximum of 36 hours.
