Brawl on board a cruise ship: thirteen young people reported by the police

The scuffle, which started near the nightclub over a joke aimed at a girl, involved two groups of cruise passengers and spread to corridors and elevators, with a young man hit while he was unconscious on the ground. The injured man was hospitalized for checks, while the video surveillance footage made it possible to identify the boys involved

Thirteen young people between the ages of 18 and 20 were reported by the Maritime Border Police of Palermo following a violent argument that broke out on board a cruise ship. The episode occurred last week during the night crossing from Naples to the Sicilian capital, where the crew had to intervene to contain the clash and request the intervention of the police.

Police investigations

Upon the ship's arrival in port, officers began investigations, reconstructing the dynamics through footage from the video surveillance system. The images made it possible to identify the 13 young people involved.

Two opposing groups

According to what emerged, the brawl saw two groups of cruise passengers facing each other: one made up of young people from Salento, who had boarded in Civitavecchia, and the other of young Sicilians, who had boarded in Palermo. The spark would have been triggered near the ship's disco, probably due to a joke addressed to a Sicilian girl by a young man from the Salento group.

The injured person and the complaints

From words we moved on to hands, with the use of tables, chairs and other objects. The fight then moved to the corridors and the elevator area, where the situation degenerated: some apparently kicked a young man in the head who remained unconscious on the ground. The boy was temporarily hospitalized for health checks, which ruled out serious consequences. The thirteen young people identified were reported for aggravated brawling.
