Powerful storm hits Toronto: Rogers Center damaged

A powerful storm hit Toronto, Canada, reports Telegram channel 360.

Wind speeds exceeded 110 kilometers per hour (30 meters per second), hail reached the size of golf balls, and roads were submerged.

The hardest hit was the Rogers Center stadium, an outdoor concert venue that seats 50,000 spectators. The wind tore off part of the roof and damaged the stands, plastic seats were twisted and destroyed, and debris was scattered throughout the stadium.

As a result of the disaster, 65 thousand residents were left without electricity. Large-scale flooding, blocked roads, downed trees and power lines were recorded throughout the city. There were no injuries, the damage to the stadium is assessed as significant.

The AC/DC concert scheduled for September 16 is in doubt. It is unknown whether the arena will be restored in two weeks.
