Investigative attention is growing and not only on the explosion of rudimentary devices in various areas of the outskirts of Rome. A phenomenon that has occurred in recent months and has once again made itself felt in recent days. During the night a bomb exploded in front of a building in via Filottrano in San Basilio. It is the third case in two days after the explosions of paper bombs in front of a slot hall in Alessandrino and a wine shop in Don Bosco. For months in the city, episodes of this kind have been recorded in different quadrants: from Ostia to Tor Bella Monaca, from Don Bosco to San Basilio.
The prefect: "There is maximum attention"
Those investigating do not rule out a connection between some of these explosions and are working to establish which criminal context they are linked to. Among the hypotheses is also that of a settlement between groups linked to the drug context after a series of operations and arrests. Mayor Roberto Gualtieri spoke to Prefect Lamberto Giannini about the explosions that occurred in recent days. "It is constantly following the situation as part of an intense investigative activity which is in full swing with the maximum commitment of the prosecutor's office and the police forces. The context - said the mayor - appears to be of a criminal nature, also in relation to some recent results obtained in the fight against criminal activities. I express full confidence and maximum support for the State's action to shed light on what happened, bring those responsible to justice and guarantee the safety of citizens". "There is maximum attention and I have full faith in the investigations coordinated by the Rome prosecutor's office to trace those responsible", said the prefect for his part.

The four episodes at Don Bosco
On the four episodes with homemade bombs in a few months in the Don Bosco neighborhood and in the eastern quadrant of the capital, the deputy of the Democratic Party, Roberto Morassut, presented a question to the Minister of the Interior. "The situation - explains Morassut - is increasingly worrying and requires particular attention from the Ministry of the Interior". The parliamentarian recalls all the episodes. On 29 April 2025 a Molotov cocktail hit an ultras club in via dei Sulpici, making it unusable. On 12 July a probable paper bomb exploded in via Valerio Flacco, damaging the door of a building and the basements. On August 3, another bomb devastated the entrance to an apartment building in via Statilio Ottato, resulting in the evacuation of the residents. On 4 October an explosion affected a commercial business in Via Calpurnio Fiamma. Morassut, together with the other Dem deputies elected in Rome, asked the Interior Ministry if the episodes were connected, if the presence of organized crime or intimidating dynamics had been assessed and what measures it intends to adopt to strengthen supervision, video surveillance and prevention, also with a dedicated table in the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security.
