The MDB candidate for the Senate for Maranhão, Roseana Sarney, declared R$22.2 million in assets to the Electoral Court. The data appears in the application for registration of candidacy at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
In total, 11 candidates will compete for two seats in Maranhão in the Federal Senate in 2026, they are: André Fufuca (PP), Cidônio Gonçalves (PL); Eliziane Gama (PT); Enilton Rodrigues (PSOL); Hilton Gonçalo (Mobiliza); Lahesio Bonfim (NEW); Raimundo Moreira (PCB); Simplício Araújo (DC); Weverton Rocha (PDT) and Wilson Leite (PSTU).
Roseana Sarney's assets increased by 41%
The assets declared by Roseana Sarney went from R$15.76 million in 2022, when she was elected federal deputy for Maranhão, to R$22.21 million in 2026, an increase of approximately 41%.
In 2022, most of the assets were concentrated in financial investments. Roseana declared R$6.63 million in fixed income investment, in addition to R$3.03 million in quotas or shares of capital.
Among the properties declared that year were a house in São Luís, valued at R$1.75 million, a commercial space in the capital of Maranhão, worth R$1.44 million, and a house in Brasília, worth R$1.03 million. There was also a house on Curupu Island, valued at R$828,900.
In 2026, the asset with the highest declared value is a house in São Luís, valued at R$5.24 million. The declaration also includes a house in Brasília, worth R$3.69 million, and R$3.4 million in fixed income investments at BTG Pactual.
Among the other highest value assets are R$2.71 million in capital shares in TV Mirante, R$2.23 million in financial investments at Banco Santander, a commercial office in São Luís valued at R$1.44 million and R$1.28 million in investments at Banco Bradesco.
The 2026 declaration also includes a Land Rover Discovery Sport valued at R$410,000, in addition to corporate interests, land, cash and balances in bank accounts in Brazil and abroad.
Comparing the two statements, Roseana's assets increased by around R$6.45 million, going from R$15,762,410.22 to R$22,210,212.13.
