Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to Perform for Three Evenings in Istanbul and Ankara

Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the world's respected orchestras, will meet music lovers for three evenings with two different programs within the scope of the Istanbul and Ankara Culture Road Festival. Conductor Vasily Petrenko, who is the music director of the British Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and draws attention with his work with internationally renowned orchestras, will conduct the orchestra for two evenings with two different programs in Istanbul and for one evening in Ankara.

ROYAL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA ON STAGE FOR THREE EVENINGS Young violin virtuoso Liya Petrova will take the stage as a soloist at the first concert to be held at the Istanbul Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) Türk Telekom Opera Hall on Friday, September 25 at 20:30 before the opening of the Istanbul Culture Road Festival. In the concert program titled "Depths of Romance with Petrova", Nikolai Tcherepnin's "La Princesse Lointaine (The Distant Princess)", Jean Sibelius' Violin Concerto and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony will be performed. The concert will present an impressive repertoire, ranging from the colorful atmosphere of the late romantic period to Sibelius' passionate violin tones and Tchaikovsky's powerful symphonic narrative.

Conductor Vasily Petrenko will share the stage with soloist Elisabeth Leonskaja, who is considered one of the most important interpreters of our age, at the opening evening of the Istanbul Culture Road Festival on Saturday, September 26, at 20:30. In the program titled "Monumental Classics with Leonskaja", Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, known as "The Emperor", and Richard Strauss' magnificent symphonic poem "Ein Heldenleben (A Hero's Life)" will be performed. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Music Director and Conductor Vasily Petrenko, will meet with music lovers at CSO Ada Ankara on Sunday, September 27 at 20:00.
