The story from accounting to mastery in the industry: 'The oil on my face is my make-up'

After graduating from commerce high school, Fatma Kuşçu started working as an accountant in the industry. While working as an accountant, Kuşçu also learned about the automotive industry alongside the masters in the workshop. Kuşçu then graduated from university and studied Marketing at Kırıkkale University. After completing his education, he returned to the industry.

Working in positions such as service manager and damage consultancy, Kuşçu improved himself by helping masters in bodywork, paint and mechanical services. Kuşçu then opened his own shop by obtaining mastership and master teaching certificates. Working with his partner and 6 staff, Kuşçu can diagnose vehicles and repair and maintain all parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes and chassis.

'WOMEN CAN DO ANY JOB'

Fatma Kuşçu said that she entered the industry through a newspaper advertisement and that she started as an accountant and learned the profession by working with masters over time. Kuşçu said, "After completing my accounting duty, I went to the workshop, next to the masters. I learned the job together with them. I have been in the business for 23 years. Every job has its difficulties. I wake up in the morning, put on my make-up and come to my workplace. Afterwards, I go home with a wet face. This is my bread and I am very happy about it. They ask, 'Can women do it?' Women can do any job, they can achieve anything. I do not see it as a difficult profession. Because I do not see a transmission as a difficult profession. "Men do not do this work alone, they ask for help. I also specialize in the mechanics of passenger vehicles. I also received my documents. First, we detect the fault on the engine. Once we detect the problem, we repair it accordingly. It is a very enjoyable job."

'MY OIL MAKEUP ON MY FACE'

Stating that there is job potential for everyone in the industry, regardless of men and women, Kuşçu said, "In my opinion, there are no men or women in any profession. My colleagues are also very polite. When I lift something heavy, someone immediately runs to help me and supports me. We also love to help each other. We are in a very nice environment. An environment where women are present becomes even more beautiful and blooms. Because they pay attention to their speech and behavior. They are more organized. This is a job that can be done with love. I do it with great pleasure, too. "It doesn't bother me at all. They even say, 'It's my make-up and skin care'. I'm glad I started this job. I've never regretted it. I can get on the bus or minibus with pride. It gives me pleasure and I'm proud of what I do for my living."
