Deadline for electoral law amendments: deadline set for Tuesday 22 September at 4pm

The deadline for submitting amendments to the electoral law to the Constitutional Affairs Committee of the Chamber expires on Tuesday 22nd at 4pm. This is what was established by the commission's bureau in which the timing was set for the measure due in the Chamber on 28 September. The deadline for indicating the subjects to be audited is Thursday 17 September at 10am (each group can indicate up to a maximum of one subject); Monday 21 September (from 11am): holding of the auditions requested by the groups followed by discussion and conclusion of the preliminary exam; Tuesday 22nd at 4pm: deadline for submitting amending proposals; Wednesday 23 September: eligibility and deadline for any requests for review with the outcome of the appeals the following day on which the examination of the amending proposals is scheduled to begin; Friday 25, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September: follow-up and conclusion of the examination of the amending proposals and, after obtaining the opinions of the competent Commissions in the consultative session, resolution on granting the mandate to the rapporteurs to report to the Assembly.

When the amendment on preferences did not pass the Chamber, "I heard that the government did not have the confidence" so "I believe it is a matter of clarity to place confidence in a law that has preferences within it", said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in response to a question on the electoral law at a press conference.
