Chef Kubilay Önder won the prestigious award in Texas

Chef Kubilay Önder, who was deemed worthy of the prestigious award as a result of the evaluation of the Chefs Association in the US state of Texas, was also recorded as the first international chef to win this award in the history of the state.

Önder thanked his family, colleagues, mentors and colleagues who have supported him over the years and stated that the award he received at the award ceremony was not just an individual success for him.

Önder stated that the most emotional part of this success for him was not being able to share this pride with his mother, who passed away, and said, "I wish I could share this pride with my mother today. I'm sure she is watching me from somewhere and is proud of me." he said.

Önder, who continues his professional journey from Turkey to America, noted that this award given by the Texas Chefs Association has a great meaning for himself as well as for representing Turkish cuisine and Turkish chefs in America.

HIS CAREER JOURNEY STARTED IN BOLU

Önder, who received Anatolian culinary training during his professional journey that started in Bolu, worked in different kitchens and international hotel management organizations in Turkey, as well as in the United Arab Emirates, Italy and the USA throughout his career.

Önder, who has been working in Dallas for many years, currently works as Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Director at Lorenzo Hotel–Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

Önder participates in the management of the general operations of the hotel by serving as part of the management team in the hotel's management company, as well as in the kitchen and food and beverage operations.

WHO IS KUBILAY ONDER?

Önder, who has many important international titles in his professional career, was awarded the title of Certified Master Chef by the World Master Chefs Society. He was also awarded the Certified Executive Chef (CEC) certificate in the USA, which certifies his competence in the field of professional cuisine.

Önder also took part in Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, one of the world's well-established gastronomy and cultural organizations.

Önder, who is also actively working to promote Turkish cuisine in the USA, serves as Culinary Ambassador within the scope of the Turkish Tastes project.
