WHO IS SELÇUK MIZRAKLI?

Selçuk Mızraklı was born in Siverek in 1963. When Mızraklı was three years old, his family moved to Eskişehir due to his father's job. He studied primary and secondary school in Eskişehir.

After graduating from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, he started working as a doctor in Diyarbakır in 1991.

He worked as a surgeon and worked at the Medical Chamber. He also took an active part in the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) since 2000.

He was arrested for 2 months in 2017 due to his involvement in DTK.

He is the Diyarbakır deputy of the People's Democratic Party in the 27th term of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. He was elected as the mayor of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality in the 2019 elections and was dismissed by appointing a trustee in his place 5 months after his election.
