Siirt Airport reopened to flights

In his written statement, Uraloğlu gave information about the work carried out at Siirt Airport.

Stating that the airport, which was temporarily closed to traffic within the scope of renovation activities, has been reopened to flights as of today, Uraloğlu stated that passenger flights have restarted with the flight of Turkish Airlines flight number TK2656, departing from Istanbul Airport, to Siirt Airport.

Uraloğlu pointed out that the first passenger plane landed at the airport today, following the extensive construction and renovation works carried out at Siirt Airport, and said, "We have reopened Siirt Airport, which we closed to flight traffic due to renovation works, to flights as of today. Flight number TK2656, departing from Istanbul Airport, made its first passenger flight to the renovated Siirt Airport. We brought Siirt together with the sky again." made his assessment.

Stating that the testing, control and calibration processes for electronic and navigation systems at the airport have been completed, Uraloğlu underlined that the systems are ready for flight operations.

Uraloğlu pointed out that the renovation works are not limited to the terminal building only and said:

"As part of our work, we carried out work on the 3 thousand 135 square meter terminal building, as well as the 70 square meter gate building, 575 square meter tower building, 170 square meter apron barrier building and 500 square meter technical center building. We also designed an approximately 7 thousand 800 meter long perimeter security road and wall."

Uraloğlu stated that after the first flight, work will continue on landscaping, landscaping, furnishing and completion of ongoing manufacturing.
