Relatives of the crew on the ship that sank as a result of the collision of two Turkish-flagged commercial ships off the coast of Silivri are waiting for news from the search and rescue teams.

The wait in Silivri for the families and relatives of the crew of the ship named "Tuğberk İmamoğlu", which sank after colliding with "MT Alsu" in the Marmara Sea on September 2, continues.

Hasan Mirzaoğlu, brother of Abdulbaki Mirzaoğlu, one of the missing crew, told journalists that search and rescue efforts continued 24 hours a day.

Stating that they are hopeful, Mirzaoğlu said, "We are sure that our statesmen are making a great effort. We believe in this and we feel it. We are in pain, we are aware of it. But as much as we are in pain, we also have hope. We think that he will be found alive, that is our hope. Our hope is that, God willing, not only my brother but all his colleagues will be found safe and sound." he said.

Mirzaoğlu stated that they will continue to wait until they receive news, adding that his brother has been working in the same company for about 4 years and that he has been working on the "Tuğberk İmamoğlu" ship for 2 months.

Abdulbaki Mirzaoğlu's son, Mahzun Mirzaoğlu, also stated that he learned about the accident from television channels and that they last met with his father on the night of the incident.

Mirzaoğlu said that his father did not mention any negativities in his meeting with his mother and said:

"Our hopeful wait continues, we keep our morale high. One of our life rafts is missing, a life raft was found, but a life raft is missing on the ship. When we talk to company officials and ship owners, they say it is impossible for it not to be opened. Our hope is in that direction. I hope the entire crew and the 10 missing colleagues are in that life raft."

Süreyya Duman, daughter of missing crew member Nidai Duman, stated that she last met with her father on Tuesday.

Stating that his father did not mention any negativity about the ship during the meeting, Duman said, "He usually turned off his phone. At that time, he said, 'I will not turn off my phone again, it will always be on.' he said. 'We'll talk.' We said and hung up. he said.

Stating that he learned about the accident from his mother, Duman said that his brother later contacted the company, but company officials did not have detailed information at that time.
