The Silp Cgil Piemonte has formally asked the police commissioner of Turin to revoke the provision with which a public initiative scheduled for 18 September at the Hotel Nh in Turin was recognized as a professional development activity, in which the MEP Roberto Vannacci, leader of Futuro Nazionale, will participate among the speakers of a round table. The initiative is organized by the FSP-State Police unions and Fmpi. Title of the conference: 'Urban insecurity: the role of institutions and businesses' According to the Piedmontese general secretary of the Silp, Nicola Rossiello, the presence of Vannacci, alongside the opening greetings of the police commissioner of Turin, Massimo Gambino, would undermine the conditions required for the recognition of self-training.
"This is, in our opinion, a sufficient element to undermine the prerequisite that the legislation requires for the recognition of self-training: the technical-scientific nature and the strict neutrality of the initiative with respect to any political connotation. The observation concerns the criteria with which the authorization was granted", states Silp Cgil Piemonte.
In the request, the union recalls, among others, Article 98 of the Constitution, the Code of Conduct for public employees and that of State Police personnel, in addition to the directives of the Department of Public Security which, according to the Silp CGIL, subordinate the recognition of self-training to the strictly technical-professional nature of the initiative.

"We are truly beyond all limits, Minister Piantedosi must now explain to Parliament and the public opinion of our country what contribution the ideas and proposals promoted by MEP Vannacci can make to the professional training of State Police personnel. It is necessary that the professional recognition that was recognized with a specific circular for this initiative be canceled and that the police commissioner of Turin, responsible for the Public Security Authority, abstains from participating in that event". Anti-fascist front, 'Defense open investigation into Vanacci and dismiss him'
The Anti-Fascist Front, with the national coordinator, the lawyer Antonio Fiumefreddo, has prepared "a complaint addressed to the Minister of Defense and the Chiefs of Staff of the Defense and the Army, requesting the opening of a formal disciplinary investigation against Roberto Vannacci". "Vannacci, in fact - explains Fiumefreddo in a note - despite having been placed in the reserve, retains the rank of general of division and remains subject to the provisions of the military system regarding rank, discipline, oath and confidentiality". "The Republic cannot be guilty, not even through silence or the failure to exercise its supervisory powers, of a form of institutional complicity with Vannacci's action - declares Fiumefreddo - we want to prevent the silence of the institutions from being perceived as tolerance or endorsement". The complaint asks to verify "whether the rank of general, the prestige acquired in the Armed Forces, military images and symbols are used to confer an institutional investiture to Futuro Nazionale" and recalls that "the Military Code directly attributes to the Minister of Defense the competence to decide on the opening of the formal investigation against general officers". "We ask - concludes Fiumefreddo in the note - that the State exercises with transparency and rigor the powers that the law attributes to it. The neutrality of the Armed Forces must be concretely guaranteed, and we therefore ask that Roberto Vannacci be dismissed from the rank of general".
