SK Telecom cooperates with four local governments in Gyeongnam to expand ‘visiting service’ to bridge the digital gap among the elderly

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kwon Ha-young = SK Telecom [017670] joins hands with four local governments in Gyeongnam to expand on-site visit services to bridge the digital gap among the elderly.

SK Telecom announced on the 13th that it signed a 'visiting service' business agreement (MOU) with Sancheong-gun, Hamyang-gun, Geochang-gun, and Hapcheon-gun in Gyeongsangnam-do on the 11th to ensure safe use of communication services and bridge the digital information gap for local residents.

SK Telecom has operated this service a total of 145 times in 74 cities and counties across the country this year, meeting approximately 13,000 customers in person, and plans to operate the on-site service a total of 8 times, 2 times each in the 4 counties that signed this agreement.

We plan to provide participatory and hands-on programs such as lecture-type education and voice phishing experience, and local residents will be provided with information on financial crime prevention and mobile phone use, regardless of the telecommunication company they are using, and will also be able to receive counseling related to telecommunication services.

The four counties plan to determine the event location, operation method, and scale of participation according to each region's conditions and utilize local networks to expand resident participation.
