I know who you are: the new Turkish thriller series on Netflix immediately enters the Italian Top 10

I Know Who You Are arrived on Netflix on 17 September, and can also be seen on Sky Glass, Sky Q and via the app on NOW Smart Stick. The original Turkish title is Seni Tanıyorum while, internationally, the series also circulates under the name Not a Stranger. All 8 episodes of the first season were released together, so they could be seen without weekly waits, with original audio in Turkish and dubbing in Italian. A debut that paid off immediately: within a few days, I Know Who You Are entered the Top 10 of the most watched titles in our country.

At the center of the story is Funda, a painter who, after becoming a mother, wishes to resume her artistic career which she had temporarily put aside. To reconcile family and work, she and her husband İlker decide to entrust the little girl to a nanny. The choice falls on Nazlı, a young woman who seems like the ideal solution: competent, affectionate and quickly indispensable. Behind that perfection, however, numerous secrets are hidden. As the episodes pass, lies and suspicions begin to creep into the home, making it increasingly difficult to understand who is really lying and why.

The first season of I Know Who You Are consists of eight episodes, all made available in one go upon release. The episodes have a variable duration, approximately between 42 and 58 minutes, for a total of just under seven hours overall. An agile format, which allows you to follow the entire story in a few evenings. The pace is typical of a domestic thriller: carefully dosed information, suspicions that shift from one character to another and a truth that can only be discovered little by little, keeping the question open until the very end.

The series is part of a proven strategy: Netflix has long considered Turkey one of its most reliable sources of non-English productions. These are often psychological thrillers, set in family contexts and built around relationships of trust that crumble. After successful titles like Fatma, I Know Who You Are tries to repeat that model by focusing on an intimate setting and a simple but universal idea, capable of overcoming the language barrier: the fear of having welcomed the wrong person into your home, precisely where you feel safest.
