Following the armed attacks that took place in Afyonkarahisar on November 5, in which 8 people lost their lives, suspect Arif Sefa Özdemir stole the jeep of the Sakarya couple with plate number 54 ACC 723 while escaping. Kasım Kırcı, the owner of the jeep seized by the attacker at gunpoint, told about his experiences.

Kasım Kırcı, who said that they were lucky to be saved but that they were saddened by the incident, could not hold back his tears while telling what he experienced. Kırcı said that he went to the spa with his wife and said, "We went to Afyonkarahisar Gazlıgöl for a holiday. We decided to travel around. That's why we were there. Then we went to visit the villages in the evening. That's when this happened to us."

Stating that they thought they had an accident because the attacker's car hit from behind, Kırcı said, "He hit it from behind. We stopped. We said get well soon to each other. The man got out of the car. I got out too. I saw that he had the gun in his hand. He said, 'Leave the car, walk away'. The lady was also in the car. He got her out too. He told us to get next to the wall. Then he stole our car. He did not use violence."

'WE LEARNED OTHER DETAILS OF THE INCIDENT'

Stating that they were unaware that the attacker had killed 8 people before, Kırcı said, "We walked away from the car. He took the car and left. After that, we reported it to the necessary places, to 112. The gendarmerie and security forces came. We learned other details of the incident. They said to us, 'You escaped well. Be thankful, he killed 8 people before you.' When they said that, we felt bad too."

Stating that they learned later that the attacker killed 2 female teachers, Kırcı said that they could not shake the impact of the incident and said, "We waited until 22.30-23.00 at night. May God bless the police forces. I thank all of them. They were very interested. Our vehicle was found at night. They delivered the vehicle to us. They thought about us until our meal. We survived a bad incident."

Kırcı said, "The neighbors who heard about us visited us as if we had come from Hajj or Umrah. We survived, but 8 people died, it was a bad incident. May God have mercy on them all. I offer my condolences to their relatives."
