While showers and thunderstorms are expected starting from the western parts of the country in the new week, it is estimated that heavy rain will be effective in some regions, including Istanbul, on Tuesday, and air temperatures in the western parts will drop below seasonal norms.

Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change General Directorate of Meteorology Weather Forecast Expert Abdullah Macit made evaluations about the weather expected in the new week.

Stating that according to the latest evaluations, showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the week, starting from the western parts of the country, Macit said that rains will be effective in the west of Marmara, the coastal Aegean and the Western Mediterranean tomorrow.

Macit stated that the rains are expected to be strong, especially in the western parts of Izmir, Muğla, Aydın and Antalya, and to be very strong and severe in places around Muğla and Aydın.

Stating that the rains will continue to affect on Tuesday, Macit gave the following information:

"On Tuesday, we expect heavy rainfall in the Marmara Region, around Çanakkale, Tekirdağ, Istanbul and Bursa, in the south of Izmir, around Antalya and Muğla, and in the east of Adana, around Osmaniye and Hatay. We estimate that the rain will be heavy in the areas around Antalya and Muğla on Wednesday. We ask our citizens to be careful about floods and floods."

Stating that the air temperatures will decrease with the rains, Macit stated that the temperatures will be below the seasonal norms in the western parts throughout the week, and around and sometimes above the seasonal norms in the eastern parts.

Abdullah Macit noted that the wind will blow from southerly directions on the Southern Aegean coast tomorrow, on Tuesday it will blow from northerly directions in the north and southwest of Marmara, and from southerly directions in the east of Central Anatolia, in the form of a strong and sometimes short-term storm.

TEMPERATURE WILL DECREASE TO 15 DEGREES IN ISTANBUL

Referring to the expected weather conditions in three metropolitan cities, Macit stated that no rain is expected in Istanbul tomorrow and Wednesday, and that heavy showers will be effective on Tuesday.

Macit said, "We estimate that the rains we expect in Istanbul on Tuesday will be heavy. Floods and floods may occur. We warn our citizens about this. The air temperature will drop to 15 degrees on Tuesday, and will be around 19 degrees in the following days." he said.

Stating that showers and thunderstorms will be effective in Ankara starting from Tuesday, Macit said that the air temperatures will decrease and fall below seasonal norms in some places.

Abdullah Macit stated that the thunderstorm, which is expected to be strong in Izmir, especially in the southern districts, will continue its effect in the first three days of the week.
