South Africa: 27 dead in two gun attacks in bar and nightclub

In South Africa, gunmen have killed a total of 27 people and injured scores more in two separate gun attacks.

South African police said on Sunday that 17 people were killed and 15 others injured in a bar west of Johannesburg. The eight perpetrators were armed with assault rifles. They also “searched some guests and took their cell phones.” They then fled the scene in two vehicles.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on Saturday evening. According to the information, the dead were 13 men and four women. The gunmen also set two vehicles on fire before fleeing.

Men storm nightclub near Cape Town

Another shooting incident in a township near Cape Town left ten dead and eleven injured on Sunday night. Gunmen stormed a nightclub in Lwandle at 1.46am and "shot at patrons", police said.
