Gençlerbirliği Club President Haydar Arda Çakmak stated that they parted ways with coach Metin Diyadin by mutual agreement after he insisted on his decision to resign.

Çakmak, the president of the red-black club, reminded in his statement that the board of directors did not accept Diyadin's resignation request yesterday.

Stating that Diyadin came to the club today and said that his decision to resign was final, Çakmak said:

"As the management, we expressed that we were pleased with him. He came to the club today. I was outside. He met with our deputy president Arif (Ölmez) Bey and other friends. He said that he would not return. He said, 'I am absolutely determined, I and my team are quitting.' He also resigned in writing. When he submitted his resignation in writing, we could not do anything. We could not keep him after that. He resigned. Thereupon, we mutually agreed, handed over his rights and terminated the contract."

Upon being reminded that they will face Amed Sportive Activities on Saturday, October 10, in the 7th week of the league, Çakmak said, "We will not rush about the coach. We will meet with the coaches one by one, explain our plans, and listen to their plans. We will follow their expectations in terms of budget. Last year, we were in a hurry regarding the coach. I made that mistake, I will not make it this year, we will examine it carefully and carefully." he said.
