Meats were located with drone support
With the support of a drone to map the area, Civil Defense agents located three bags on the riverbed.
Within the material collected, inspectors confirmed the presence of meat, apparently pork, in an advanced state of decomposition.
The operation had the participation of the Municipal Environmental Foundation of Criciúma (Famcri).
"We identified the bags and removed them from the river. It's one of the saddest events I've ever seen happen in Civil Defense. Before it spoiled, this food could have been donated to institutions. This would have been lunch or dinner for a lot of people", said the director of Civil Defense, Fred Gomes.
Civil Defense finalizes the official report on the inspection and tracking of images.
The document will be sent to the Environment Directorate and Famcri to open administrative proceedings, monitor trade and apply fines.
