The head of SOK won the tender for the police. PKP PLK wants a business ban for staff

At the end of June, we informed that the private company of the Chief Commander of the Railway Protection Guard became a supplier of specialized equipment (shooting trainers) for the Warsaw Police Headquarters.

Jarosław Garstka, as part of his off-duty activities, took part in a tender for the Warsaw police and won the tender worth several hundred thousand zlotys. The head of SOK offered the lowest price (almost PLN 342,000), and the two counter-bidders - PLN 464,000. PLN and nearly 528 thousand zloty.

The Chief Commander of the Railway Protection Guard emphasized that his activities were in line with the regulations, did not constitute competition for PKP PLK and did not see a conflict of interest, however, due to the controversy, he announced his resignation from participating in subsequent tenders.

After the case was disclosed by RMF FM, the Central Anticorruption Bureau began an analysis for possible violations of the law, conflict of interest and transparency of the tender.

However, this is not the end of the matter. As RMF FM reporter Krzysztof Zasada reports on Friday, the supervisory board of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe asked the company's management board to consider the possibility of developing internal regulations that would eliminate the possibility of running a business by persons holding managerial positions in the Railway Protection Service.

This is a reaction to the position of the Ministry of Infrastructure. After we revealed the questionable business contacts of the SOK commander with the capital police, the ministry received an interpellation from a group of MPs.
