Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Kurtulmuş, spoke on the phone with Abdunnebi, the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives.

According to the statement made by the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Kurtulmuş spoke on the phone with Abdunnebi, the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives.

Kurtulmuş congratulated Abdunnebi, who was elected as the President of the Parliament in the Parliamentary Presidential Council elections on October 6, and expressed his wishes for success.

Thanking Abdunnebi for his condolence message and for the brotherhood and solidarity he showed due to the flood disaster in Istanbul, Kurtulmuş stated that Türkiye has made active efforts to ensure stability and tranquility in Libya since the beginning.

Emphasizing that Libya's stability is extremely important for regional security, Kurtulmuş stated that they support the efforts of the United Nations in this context and noted that Türkiye is determined to further strengthen dialogue and cooperation with both the east and west of Libya.

Stating that they are pleased to observe that the bonds of friendship and brotherhood continue to be strengthened with mutual steps, Kurtulmuş expressed his satisfaction with the unanimous acceptance of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Delimitation of Turkey-Libya Maritime Jurisdiction Areas, concluded in 2019, at the first general assembly meeting held yesterday under the chairmanship of Abdunnebi.

Conveying President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's love and greetings to the members of the Libyan House of Representatives, Kurtulmuş said that they heartily appreciate and congratulate those who took this decision, which is a concrete sign of Turkey-Libya brotherhood relations, especially the Speaker of the Parliament Abdunnebi.

During the meeting, Kurtulmuş also expressed his pleasure in hosting Abdunnebi in Türkiye as soon as possible to increase cooperation between the two countries.

Salihin Abdunnebi, Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, thanked Kurtulmuş and noted that they would continue their cooperation together and safely.
