"There is no one in our family who has done animal husbandry before. Normally, I am a psychologist. But we started animal husbandry by learning from the internet. We have been doing animal husbandry on our ancestral land for 5 years. Our paths crossed with TÜME at the auction. We bought angus at the auction, we were successful with our angus, we took good care of our animals, we did not experience any losses. Afterwards, we applied to the TÜME Agricultural Entrepreneur Program, got positive results, and completed our training. Now, our autonomous farm has started to be built. We are very excited. We always do this. "I'm telling you, we have put on a shirt of fire. We have a lot of responsibility now, we want to be successful and our goal is to get 100 healthy calves from the next 100 breeders."
"I am proud to be under the umbrella of TÜME"
Furkan Aşık also explained that with the support he received from TÜME Foundation, he first received a one-month training at TÜME's training farms, then he was subjected to an exam and found an investor, the installation of the farm was completed, and the animals would be brought in as soon as possible.
Aşık said, "We are currently at Şanlıurfa TEKNOFEST. I am proud to be under the umbrella of TEKNOFEST and TÜME. Here too, our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will announce our names as TEKNOFEST agricultural entrepreneurs. I am very excited and proud for this." he said.
"Our goal is to support production in our country"
Deniz Karataş emphasized that he has been breeding sheep in Yalova for 5 years and that they applied when they saw the information about the program on TÜME's website and said, "Our goal is to support more production in our country. We are already people who love animals and devoted themselves to animal husbandry. In this sense, by getting such support, we want to build a future that is more sustainable and where we can produce more for our country with the artificial intelligence and autonomous farm project." he said.
40 thousand entrepreneur projects
TÜME Foundation supports the transformation of agriculture on the axis of technology, education, entrepreneurship and investment with 5 main programs, including the TEKNOFEST Agricultural Technologies Competition.
TÜME Agricultural Entrepreneur Program aims to train young agricultural entrepreneurs who can use technology, interpret data, and manage financial processes and businesses. Theoretical and practical training is provided on animal health, herd management, production planning, management, robotics, sensors, data analysis and artificial intelligence-supported production. Successful ones are certified and introduced to investors.
It is aimed to establish an artificial intelligence-supported autonomous farm with a capacity of 100 cattle for each entrepreneur. Within the scope of the protocol signed with the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), autonomous education farms are donated to universities, and their installation work continues. The aim of these farms is for regional producers and students to receive practical training, to implement scientific studies under production conditions and to carry R&D studies to the field.
While 24 autonomous farms were established in 12 cities in one year, 12 in universities and 12 for agricultural entrepreneurs, it is aimed to put 40 autonomous farms into operation by the end of this year. Creating an ecosystem that will bring together 40 thousand young agricultural entrepreneurs with 40 thousand new generation autonomous farms in the long term is among the aims of the program.
