They developed a domestic flight control computer at TEKNOFEST

Aviation, Space and Technology Festival (TEKNOFEST), of which Anadolu Agency (AA) is the "Global Communication Partner" and carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the T3 Foundation, welcomes its visitors at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport.

Genç and his team, who participated in the TEKNOFEST Rocket Competition with the Silk Road Rocket Team in 2024 while they were students of Computer Engineering at Fırat University, received the "Best Team Spirit" award in the competition.

Genç, who continued his rocketry studies after his student years, is today introducing the products he developed to visitors at their stand in the T3 Enterprise Foundation tent.

Genç stated to the AA correspondent that the teams must have commercial products in their systems in line with the conditions determined by ROKETSAN within the scope of rocket competitions.

Explaining that they developed a commercial flight control computer for this need, Genç said that the product also passed ROKETSAN's tests.

Genç said, "The commercial flight control computer is the card that provides controls in the entire process from the moment of take-off to the moment of landing of the rocket. It is actually the brain of the rocket. We developed it with domestic resources. We made and designed all the design, typesetting and software ourselves." he said.

"He started when he was a student and continues as an engineer"

Stating that TEKNOFEST creates a process for him from student life to professional life, Genç stated that the festival contributes to the emergence of initiatives and value-added products beyond competitions.

Genç said, "It is a great feeling to be involved in TEKNOFEST. TEKNOFEST's mission is to create initiatives that go beyond the competition and develop products that add value to our country. We are trying to be a stakeholder in this. This is a truly proud feeling." he said.

Expressing that he was curious about the work done by the students who contacted them in the festival area, Genç said that they especially encouraged young people participating in rocket competitions to work in this field.

Expressing that TEKNOFEST provides young people with not only technical knowledge but also experience in the product development process, Genç continued as follows:

"TEKNOFEST creates an ecosystem. People find an environment where they can improve themselves. They participate in competitions in their fields of interest. By improving themselves in this field, they are prepared for business life. They master things such as discipline, responsibility, and the development process of a product while they are students."

"The first sale was made"

Stating that the product they developed is sold in the domestic market, Genç said that they have made their first sales and that they aim to expand abroad in the coming period.

Genç said, "We are currently selling in the domestic market. We made our first sale last year. We are planning to expand abroad in the future. We would like to export our products." he said.

Referring to the importance of TEKNOFEST for Türkiye, Genç stated that the festival contributes to the development of new products and the training of young people in the field of technology, and noted that this process is one of the steps of the "National Technology Move".
