Aviation, Space and Technology Festival (TEKNOFEST), of which Anadolu Agency (AA) is the "Global Communication Partner" and carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the T3 Foundation, welcomes its visitors at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport.

Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) President Prof. Dr. Faruk Bilir told the AA correspondent that it is a person's natural right to eliminate and not make visible lawful and accurate information previously published on digital channels, the internet and search engines.

Stating that being remembered has become a rule with the development of technology, Bilir said:

"Even if we forget, search engines, especially Google, do not forget. This information published about us in the past constantly appears and people are disturbed by it. To be more concrete, when you search with a person's name and surname on Google, there is information about the person from 15-20, even 40 years ago. And people are disturbed by the constant visibility of these news. They do not want this to be visible with the name and surname on search engines and they want it to be removed from the index. Google has opened a box specifically for Türkiye. "You enter the information you want to be removed, and within 30 days you have to be informed whether this information can be removed or not."

"Technology and privacy are not opposite concepts"

Stating that artificial intelligence is becoming more widespread day by day, Bilir stated that people's lives are also affected by it.

Emphasizing that their institutions constantly provide information about artificial intelligence, Bilir said:

"Artificial intelligence achieves a result by obtaining most information and data. With the development of artificial intelligence and technology, the need for privacy awareness in people is actually developing. So, I would like to say this very clearly. Technology and privacy are not opposing concepts. There should be both technology and privacy. We should approach artificial intelligence with a human focus. Artificial intelligence should be transparent and people should have control over themselves when necessary. Because artificial intelligence ultimately also processes personal data. Therefore, this data should not be used randomly and arbitrarily, but should be used in an accountable manner and artificial intelligence should replace humans." "It should be approached together with people, with an understanding that serves people."
