Stating that sexed semen can contribute to more planned herd management in livestock enterprises, Yaşar said that it is aimed to use it to increase the number of female calves in milk production enterprises and to obtain male calves with high meat yield in meat production enterprises.
Yaşar said, "We separate the sperm according to their gender by going through various processes in the laboratory environment. Then, we prepare the sperm that can be used to obtain male or female offspring, depending on the need. Then, the sperm are packaged and sent to the field to be used by veterinarians." he said.
Explaining that this technology is used in 4-5 countries abroad, Yaşar noted that they aim for Türkiye to develop domestic technology in this field.
