Attempted femicide: woman shot in the head is discharged from hospital in Santarém

According to the medical team at the health unit, the patient's recovery was considered surprising, due to the severity of the injury caused by the gunshot.

The Civil Police (PC) opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the crime and plans to formally hear the victim's statement in the coming days.

The case happened in the early hours of October 2, in the Castanheira community, rural area of ​​Mojuí dos Campos. The companion himself took the victim by car to the hospital and called the young woman's aunt, asking her to go to the unit, but left before the family member arrived.

On the evening of the same day, military police officers from the Military Police (PM) seized a 36-caliber shotgun with a detonated cartridge from the suspect's home, identified as the weapon used in the action.

The suspect presented himself to the police station on October 5th, accompanied by a lawyer, and gave a statement while free. The defense argued before the police that the shooting was accidental during an argument between the couple and that the man provided immediate assistance to his partner.
